St. Patrick’s Day Decorations On A Budget
Who says that buying St Patrick’s Day decorations needs to empty all of your pot o’ gold this year? Planning and decorating for a holiday party can easily get expensive, and when it comes to St Patrick’s Day it is more important to invest your time in energy in getting good friends to attend–and supplying them with good whiskey and beer to drink! For this reason it is important to consider strategies to host an amazing St. Patrick’s Day celebration without going broke in the process.
The key to having great St. Patrick’s Day decorations without spending a fortune lies in setting the tone of the holiday without a large number of expensive decorations. You don’t need to go get three packages of shamrock paper plates and green jello, you simply need a few bits of green and blue here and there to draw the eye. A good tablecloth is a great place to start, which can be weighed down with your own personal Blarney Stone from the garden for good measure. Scatter a few gold foil covered chocolate coins on the table for guests to enjoy, or set up an overflowing pot on either side of your Blarney Stone. A couple of shamrock decorations on each wall would not go amiss, but don’t go overboard on them.
Never forget to hang your Irish flag to pay your respects; this is an integral part of any true St. Patrick’s Day celebration. A clever host might also think about putting a few rubber snakes in various places to symbolize St. Patrick chasing the snakes out of Ireland. From there the rest of your decorations can easily be made by hand, be it various shamrocks dangling from the ceiling by string or even a rainbow across a back wall. Complete the planning with some good food and drink to welcome your guests and you are sure to have a great party that your friends will remember for years to come.
